A delegation from the British Parliament, led by Lorraine Fullbook, MP, Jeffrey Donaldson MP, and Mark Pritchard MP, visited Doha, Qatar, to attend the launch of Paper 1, Phase 2, of the QIASS CVE study. The MPs toured the QIASS facility and sat in on classes, and received a briefing from QIASS officials on courses on offer.

The paper, entitled “Countering Violent Extremism: Community Engagement Programmes in Europe,” by Stephen White and Kieran McEvoy, was presented on February 21, 2012, at an event held at the Sheraton Hotel, Doha, under the auspices of His Excellency, Ghanim Khalifa Al-Kubaisi, Chief of the State Security Bureau. Following the presentation of the paper, guests joined officials, ambassadors, QIASS team members, and the report authors, for a roundtable discussion led by Ann Snow, from the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
