Don Mikel has been the Director of the Language School since 2013, where he oversees all aspects of a multi-language training program. Prior to joining QIASS, Don was involved in teaching and administering a number of language training programs in Canada, Taiwan, UAE, Oman (Nizwa University), The Czech Republic and Qatar (Ministry of Interior) since 2005.
From 1980-2006, Don held a number of senior management positions in the corrections, policing services and forensic mental health sectors in Canada. He was also an Adjunct Associate Professor at The University of Ontario Institute of Technology and has authored a number of publications. In 2003, Don was awarded a medal for career contributions from the Office of the Governor-General of Canada.
Don holds a CELTA (Cambridge University Language Certificate) as well as five master’s degrees, two of which are in Language Teaching. His other degrees are in Educational Psychology, Criminology and Public Administration. Mr. Mikel is a specialist in Quality in Health and Education.
